Several things. Pure cashmere yarn is made from 100% pure cashmere material. As material named as diamond fiber, soft gold, pure cashmere yarn is the softest and most comfortable to make garment. Pure cashmere yarn clothing has very good hand feel and very soft. Pure cashmere yarn is also very expensive. In Consinee there are different cashmere yarn, like 2/26, 2/28, 2/36, 2/48 in woolen, worsted and semi-worsted.
Silk blends very well with cashmere and gives garments more sheen and drape. Silk is a “harder” fiber when blended with cashmere on the woolen system so the silk & cashmere blended garments do not feel as soft as 100% cashmere. It is less expensive than pure cashmere yarn. There are 45/55 cashmere/silk yarn nm2/28 in Consinee and cashmere silk yarn in other ratio.
Silk is less expensive than cashmere so a like garment made from a silk cashmere should be cheaper than the 100% cashmere garment. Cashmere blended with cotton will produce a lower priced, cooler garment with some of the characteristics, luxury and softness of cashmere. Cashmere cotton is also a regular composition in Consinee such as 2/48 70% Cotton 30% Cashmere yarn (Semi-Worsted), 2/60 70% Cotton 20% Silk 10% Cashmere yarn（Semi-Worsted）.
