Feathers of the Fire Phoenix | HKDI Rising Stars Weave a Pioneering Fashion Manifesto for 2026 with Consinee Yarns

On July 7, 2026, the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) “New Fashion Force 2026” graduation fashion show came to a successful close. For the third consecutive year, the Consinee Group provided full support as a Diamond Sponsor of the event and established the exclusive “Consinee Award” to ignite the flame of innovation among the next generation of designers at this fashion extravaganza brimming with creativity and passion.
The two fashion shows attracted nearly 1,400 industry experts, seasoned designers, and fashion enthusiasts. The evening awards ceremony was simultaneously livestreamed online, infusing Hong Kong’s local fashion industry with a steady stream of fresh talent. Twenty-six students took the stage to showcase their original works in fashion design, knitwear design, and denim collections. With their forward-thinking design perspectives, these young designers broke free from traditional constraints, bringing new inspiration and vitality to the fashion industry.

Yarn Meets Creativity: Weaving Diverse Design Expressions
The Consinee Group made the full range of yarn resources from its three major brands—CONSINEE, TOPLINE, and ICCI—available to all participating graduates, fully supporting the students in transforming abstract design concepts into stunning ready-to-wear pieces. The designers fully explored the material properties of different yarns to create garments that combine practical functionality with artistic expression, fully showcasing the limitless creative possibilities of textile fabrics.

Ms. Zhou Xiaohua, a judge for the show and Marketing and Business Development Manager at Consinee Group, ultimately awarded the prestigious “Consinee Grand Prize” to Chen Jiayi. Her collection, Abandoned Dolls, was crafted using yarns from the CONSINEE Lewes, ICCI Dragon, and Medusa series. It personifies the scars and rebirth of abandoned dolls, using the imagery of tattered street dolls to reflect on the fragile yet profound connection between people and objects, reveal an overlooked inner emotional world, and call for cherishing each other’s warm companionship. The entire collection received high praise from the entire judging panel for its creative concept, thematic expression, use of yarn, craftsmanship, and overall presentation.

The works of the other two outstanding designers supported by the yarn were equally impressive:
Zhong Maoxi’s Lazy Pose
Using CONSINEE Brighton, Padstow, and Seri yarns, as well as ICCI Medusa and Odell yarns, this collection employs asymmetrical cuts and comfortable knitted fabrics to depict the process of gradually letting one’s guard down while working. The quirky postures born of laziness become the soul of the collection, showcasing a relaxed yet stylish personal aesthetic.

Zhang Jingluo, “I Just Wanna Shower”
Featuring CONSINEE Lewes, Brighton, Padstow, and Sage yarns, as well as TOPLINE Lia and Tigg yarns, this collection draws inspiration from the experience of being forced to respond to work instructions in the middle of a shower—reflecting the erosion of personal boundaries in the digital age. While sacrificing personal time may seem like dedication, it actually undermines work-life balance. True professionalism lies in respecting one’s own time and maintaining clear boundaries between work and life.

The overall grand prize was awarded to Cui Huiqiao. Her “Metamorphosis” series explores self-identity and the expression of inner emotions. She pointed out that many people suppress their emotions—perhaps out of fear of prejudice or concern for how they might affect others—effectively locking away their true selves. Through this series, she hopes to convey a core message: we should value and cherish ourselves, because we are what truly matter most.

A Warm Encounter: A Card from the Heart, a Mutual Resonance in Design
Behind the scenes of the runway show lay a touching moment of tenderness. After sharing their creative concepts, several students who received yarn sponsorship support personally presented handwritten thank-you cards to express their gratitude to Consinee for its long-standing support of young designers. These thin cards were filled with the young designers’ pure creative passion and also conveyed the new generation’s respect for the industry’s mentors. This unadorned sincerity has further strengthened our resolve to stay true to our original mission of nurturing young talent and has helped us understand the unique significance of accompanying emerging designers on their journey.

The Fire Phoenix Program: More Than Sponsorship—It’s a Journey Together
From serving as a Diamond Sponsor for the SFT Graduation Design Exhibition and the HKDI Graduation Fashion Show for three consecutive years, to providing strong support for the Young Knitwear Designer Competition in 2025, Consinee’s “Fire Phoenix Program” continues to deepen its commitment to nurturing young designers. We offer far more than just yarn and materials; we also share cutting-edge industry insights, building a bridge between academia and the professional world for young designers, helping them transform creative concepts on paper into finished garments, and empowering them to realize their design

Moving forward, Consinee Group will continue to prioritize innovation as its core driving force, uphold the principles of sustainable development, and collaborate with every emerging force in the fashion industry to jointly explore new possibilities in textiles and fashion, defining a brand-new fashion landscape for the next generation.
