The Feathers of the Phoenix Flame: HKDI's New Talent Weaves the Most Rebellious Fashion Manifesto into 2025 Fashion History with Consinee Yarn
On July 8, 2025, the graduation fashion show of "New Fashion Force 2025" by Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) came to a successful conclusion. As a diamond level sponsor, the Consinee Group has specially established the "Consinee Awards" to fully support this creative and passionate fashion feast. This show not only showcased the top design talents of HKDI students, but also ignited the innovation flame in the fashion industry with the "Phoenix Project" as the link.

The perfect collision of creativity and yarn
Consinee Group provided 10 HKDI graduates with a full range of yarn choices from its three major brands - CONSINEE, TOPLINE, and ICCI, helping them transform their imaginative design concepts into stunning works. Designers cleverly utilize the characteristics of yarn to create fashion collections that combine functionality and artistry, showcasing the infinite possibilities of textile materials in the fashion industry. The theme of this work covers multiple directions such as social issues, personal growth, and sustainable fashion. The designers cleverly use yarn from the Consinee Group (such as BRIGTON, HANA, PEGASUS, etc.) to express the perfect combination of functionality and artistry through innovative knitting techniques.
Highlights of some award-winning works:
Yang Cuixin won the "Connie Award" for her work "WORKAHEALING". The core concept of this work is "work is healing", which redefines workwear by deconstructing suits and functional details. The design adopts a gradient color scheme from indigo to dawn flowing gold, cleverly symbolizing the circadian rhythm of workaholics. The work specifically uses ICCI Pegasus sponsored yarn and innovatively recycles discarded fabric from the off-season color cards of Consinee, achieving upgrading and reconstruction through exquisite crochet and patchwork techniques. This design that combines loose fit and professional silhouette showcases both design aesthetics and environmental responsibility, ultimately winning unanimous favor from the jury.

Zhou Qingmiao won four awards with her work "Anatomy: Rights of Garments", including overall champion, Best Sustainability Award, Best Women's Clothing Design Award, and HKFDA Creative Award. This work draws inspiration from human anatomy and delves into the subtle relationship between clothing and the body. The designer cleverly utilizes the knitting characteristics of CONSINEE Sandbank yarn to accurately simulate the unique texture of skin being pulled, while breaking through physical limitations through innovative material experiments, showcasing avant-garde design concepts and exquisite craftsmanship.

Wanze Cheng's award-winning work "Awaken Sleep" cleverly utilizes the soft drape characteristics and excellent dyeing effect of Topline Ceylon yarn, perfectly integrating traditional denim washing technology with knitting technology. This work boldly breaks through conventions, abandoning the traditional denim blue color scheme and innovatively developing a unique wash color scheme that maintains avant-garde design while also being commercially feasible. The work vividly interprets the elements of sleep through delicate knitted texture and innovative washing effect, profoundly presenting the spiritual exhaustion of modern people in high-pressure society. This design not only won the Best Knitted Design Award and the HKFDA Creative Award, but also successfully raised public awareness of sleep health and social pressure, demonstrating the social value of fashion design.

Industry authorities jointly learn from emerging forces
Ms. Zhou Xiaohua, Marketing and Business Development Manager of Consinee Group, and several industry authorities served as judges, witnessing the outstanding talents of the new generation of designers together. This fashion show attracted 1200 spectators, with unprecedented grandeur. HKDI students injected fresh vitality into the fashion industry with a forward-looking perspective and the courage to challenge tradition.

Phoenix Project: Empowering Future Designers
From the "Butterfly Transformation" exhibition at Shanghai Vocational College of Arts and Crafts, to the SFT graduation design exhibition at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and to this HKDI graduation fashion show, Consinee's "Phoenix Project" continues to soar in various fashion events. We are committed to becoming a solid support for the growth path of future designers, working together with emerging fashion forces to explore the unknown and define the new face of future fashion.

More Consinee sponsored student works, showcasing the infinite possibilities of knitted design

Recently, Xiong Yingdi, an outstanding graduate and designer from Central Saint Martins University in the UK, collaborated with the Consinee Group to use Consinee's Cashmere Yarn and inventory fabric as the core materials for its graduate series, designing a series of lightweight and dynamic products. These products were selected for the Parsons Charity Dinner held on Wall Street in New York, showcasing the power of Chinese brands and design on the international stage.
Looking ahead to the future, the Consinee Group will continue to use innovation as the engine and sustainability as the core to support the thriving development of the global fashion industry. Looking forward to more young designers joining hands with Consinee to write a new chapter in the fashion industry!
