What is the recycled cashmere?

Nowadays, environmental protection is receiving increasing attention, and sustainable development has also affected the textile industry. So recycled cashmere and wool came into being.

Recycled resources refer to natural resources that can maintain or increase their reserves at a certain growth rate through natural forces. For  resources, the key lies in achieving sustainable utilization through the rational regulation of resource utilization rates.

What is the recycled cashmere?

Recycled cashmere is actually the recycling and reuse of cashmere fibers, but it is not the recycling of cashmere sweaters. Instead, it is the recycling of waste generated during the spinning process, that is, the return of silk and wool.

 Can 100% recycled cashmere be made?

Not recommended. Since recycled cashmere is already very low in terms of gloss and softness, if 100% recycled cashmere is made, it means that the cashmere fabric will feel rough and have poor softness, thus losing the meaning of cashmere sweaters. Due to the nature of the recycling process, 100% cashmere can only be spun for coarser counts, For finer yarns we recommend not using more than 60% recycled cashmere and blend with other fibres.

If you want to make use of recycled cashmere, I would recommend blending it. Whether it's by blending wool, cashmere or other fibers, this way you can achieve a balanced effect. 

Will recycled cashmere be cheaper than ordinary cashmere?

The answer is No, because being recycled does not mean being cheap. On the contrary, recycled cashmere and wool are more difficult to handle in the process of reuse than new cashmere and wool. To increase the production rate, they have higher requirements for the spinning process.
